Northwood House & Park - Public Car Parking
Park Road Long Term Car Park

New Car Parking Arrangements at Northwood House

The Trustees of Northwood House Charitable Trust have contracted with Euro Car Parks (ECP) to manage the two Northwood House car parks: the 'Park Road' long-term car park and the new 'Rotunda' short-stay Pay & Display car park (which is located at the bottom of the access road off Ward Avenue to the main entrance to Northwood House). Both car parks are now operational. Isle of Wight Council parking permits are not valid in either of these car parks.

ALL INCOME FROM THESE CAR PARKS WILL BE USED FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND RESTORATION OF NORTHWOOD HOUSE AND PARK

Park Road Long-Stay Car Park

The new tariffs have been set to make it easier to pay and display by making hourly price bands in 'whole pounds'. Charges apply 7 days a week from 8am to 6pm. A special all-day rate applies for stays of more than 8 hours, so that vehicles can be left overnight from the time of the first Red Jet until the same time the following morning. Click here for the long term parking tariff board which is displayed by the parking machines.

Weekly tickets can be purchased at the machine by credit card or by using the Verrus 'PayByPhone' service. This new service also enables car owners to extend their parking time if delayed in meetings or by ferry, which will appeal to many commuters. Click here for more information. Monthly, quarterly and annual permits can be obtained directly from Euro Car Parks. Click here for permit details and prices. Permits commence from the first of any month.

Parking rates for vans and coaches are shown on the long stay parking tariff board. Two spaces are reserved for cars displaying a blue 'disabled' badge; normal parking charges apply.

The car park is patrolled and monitored and a Parking Charge Notice (PCN) will be issued if vehicles are not parked in bays or fail to display a valid ticket.

Rotunda Short-Stay Car Park

The new tariffs have been set to make it easier to pay and display by making hourly price bands in 'whole pounds'. Charges apply 7 days a week from 8am to 6pm. As this is a short-stay car park, weekly tickets and permits are not available. No parking is permitted at any time on the access road, where double yellow 'no parking' lines ensure that any large emergency or delivery vehicle can easily reach the House.

This car park is primarily for use by local people and visitors to the park, for dog walkers, bowlers coming to their Green in the park, users of the Community Hall, parents bringing children to the playground and people visiting the House for weddings, conferences, to use the training rooms or visit the offices or simply walking in the grounds or down to the High Street.

All users are required to obtain a ticket from the machine and display it on their vehicle; no return is allowed within 2 hours. The maximum stay in this car park is 4 hours and the parking machine is 'cash-only'.

Disabled drivers displaying a blue badge have priority parking spaces next to the steps into the park. There is also a reserved parking space for disabled badge users only opposite the Community Hall near the St Mary’s entrance to the House, where there is wheelchair access into the House. Normal parking charges apply to vehicles displaying a blue badge. Please do not park on the yellow hatched areas as these are entrances into the park or to the Community Hall.

The car park is patrolled and monitored and parking fines will apply if vehicles are not parked in bays or fail to display a valid ticket.
