22 December 2011: A letter from the Chair of Trustees to thank everyone who has given so much help and support to the Trust during 2011.

6 December 2011: the Trustees are pleased to publish a statement about the public meeting on 28 November.

29 November 2011: PUBLIC MEETING SUCCESSFUL: the public meeting held at the House on Monday 28 November to inform and consult the public on forthcoming changes to the charitable Scheme which governs the Trust went well. Some 60 local people came along to hear a summary of the proposed changes to the Scheme and were able to ask some useful questions. The Chair of Trustees, Ann Thwaites, introduced the evening, followed by a presentation by another Trustee, David Christie, explaining the details of the new draft Scheme.  Click here to read the draft documents which will govern the new Charitable Scheme – the new draft Charitable Scheme and Articles of Association of the new Trust Company.  

13 October 2011: the Trustees are delighted to report that Cowes Community Partnership have re-nominated Liz Mackenzie to join the Trustees for a further four years. CCP are one of the nominating bodies under the 2002 Charitable Scheme which currently governs Northwood House Charitable Trust. The term of office of their nominee expired in June this year and it has only now been possible for CCP to hold an appropriate meeting to nominate a successor. Liz has given sterling service to the Trust for a number of years and has a huge depth of experience and knowledge about the Trust specifically and governance matters generally, so we are delighted to welcome her back.

18 August 2011: the Accounts of the Charitable Trust for the period 1 April 2009-30 September 2010 (during which period the Isle of Wight Council were effectively in sole control) have been signed off and are available for public view. Click here for more information.

10 July 2011: the responses to the consultation paper on the future of Northwood House and Park are in. Click here for a summary of the data on the various questions posed in the paper; and here for the 'free text' comments made by respondents. Please note that a number of comments were personally insulting to some of the Trustees and Advisers (mostly from anonymous respondents) and these have been removed from the document.

24 June 2011: response to unsolicited proposal about the future of Northwood House.

12 June 2011: read an article by one of the Trustees responding to many of the unfair statements which have been made by the public since the publication of the consultation document on the future of Northwood House and Park.

5 June 2011: read a letter from the Chair of the Trustees, following a misleading article in the 'County Press' of 3 June 2011.

CHAIR'S REPORTS

Every month, the Chair of the Northwood House Trustees, who is nominated by Cowes Town Council under the terms of the 2002 Charitable Scheme, produces a newsletter with a summary of what's been going on at Northwood House and Park in the preceding month.
